STOP: LONG Corn May25

Hit stop-loss:
One ZCK5 contract sold at a price of 498.

The corn prices are getting volatile. It is good that I have a stop in place to limit the loss.

Checklist:
Was it a planned trade? Yes.
Did I stick by my rules? Yes.
Am I back to a calm state? Yes.

Mind reset… Done. On to the next trade.

ROLL: LONG Corn Mar25 > May25

Futures rollover:
One ZCH5 contract sold at a price of 497.5.
One ZCK5 contract bought at a price of 518.0.
SL = 498.0

The corn futures price rose and fell dramatically while I was sleeping. My May25 buy order was triggered at the peak, but I only closed the Mar25 position at the trough when I woke up. The timing can definitely be improved.

Note to Self:
Use IBKR Conditional Order to close the front month position when the price of the next month contract hits the traded price of my order. (There is a chance that my front month position is closed out while my next month contract order is still unfilled. But that possibility should be remote.)

Total ZCK5 position is now long 1 contract.
Stop-Loss for the entire position is now at 498.0.
